De Nor (The Nick)
Last summer a new space opened in Antwerp, which is pretty far out of the center of town, at the side of a big art-statue park: the Middelheim Museum. The space was created by Dennis Tyfus and he is also organizing the events on the place. Roughly it is a fenced area with a tribune in form of big stairs with a bar underneath and a stage up front. Specially in summer it’s a great place between the trees.
So a few times i went up there and enjoyed concerts/performances of various sorts.

During the regular Jazz Middelheim Festival, Dennis organized the ‘Free Jazz Festival’, which was very free indeed. He invited a lot of artists/musicians and asked to bring an instrument. They were not allowed to play their own instrument, but it was randomly chosen by the ‘master of ceremonies’ Stefaan. They also played together with randomly chosen other people, which all together brought many nice surprises in different qualities.
